From DSM to CDG

Monday afternoon at 1:37 pm I leave the DSM airport in the heart o' Iowa. From Des Moines I fly to Detroit, then Amsterdam, then finally Paris.

I have to admit I am a Des Moines lover. I love the wonderful city populated right around 700,000. But...of course, there are more pigs than people in the entire state. Oh my...those silly Iowans.

And, fun Des Moines trivia... The American Idols are singing at the Wells Fargo Arena tonight! Yeah, Fox! But, unfortunately for us Des Moiners...the freeway is still under construction, and it will, in fact, remain under construction until the year 2012. (Which is coincidentally the magic 2012 year of the Baylor Plan 2012!)

And, CDG is going to be huge! I get into Paris (Charles de Gaulle) on Tuesday morning at 9:10am. Paris, populated around 14 million people, is going to be a huge change from my beloved Des Moines!
It's going to be a long day!

If the suitcase is going, it might as well be full...

So, here begins my packing for four months in Paris. I am told to bring one suitcase, but will probably end up checking two. My sister's room (above) has become my unofficial suitcase. I've been laying everything out that I'm packing to hopefully eliminate any unneccessary junk.

Oh my...who knows!

I still have a few odds and ends left to get:
-Tights
-Hand Sanitizer
-Presents for the family I'm living with
-International Calling Card
-100 euros from the bank
-New Moleskine
-Slippers

But, pretty much...I'm ready and rarin' to go!

I'm completely pumped about living in Paris! Eiks! It's going to be an experience!

Intern Lovin'

Jake, Molly and I chillin at Haha Tonka State Park in Roach, Missouri. And, this picture most definitely looks like we were in an exotic destination! It's simply ridiculous.

I've learned so much from Molly and Jake this summer, and they will remain close to my heart for many years to come. This summer has been full with more laughs than most people are blessed with in a lifetime.
